So it was roughly an hour ago that a very interesting conversation happened between me, Brea and our other roommate, Tia. She wanted to talk to both of us, so of course Brea and I thought, “Oh crap.” But she assured us it was nothing bad. So Brea lent up against the closet side of the dresser and I was on the door side, blocking the way out.

She started off by telling us what religion she was raised on. (JW) Then she said what were taboo, crosses, vampires, and super natural in general. Also how her mom freaked a little when she visited (I don’t know why. She didn’t meet me.) By this point I’m trying not to laugh.

Instead my brain made me say, “Well we aren’t Christian anyway.”

Then she followed up with, “Well what are you guys?”

I started, “Well…Pagans.”

She blinked and said, “What’s that?”

I continued, “Polytheistic. More then one God.” She still looked confused so I said, “Earth…nature worshipers. Mother Goddess.” She was still lost. I was trying to avoid the word witch. Even though I knew her brain would click but it would click in the wrong direction.

Then Brea blurted out with, “Witches. To put it bluntly.” Then her phone rang. For that Brea and I almost fell on the floor and then Brea lost the game. After she got off the phone she asked the ever famous, “So you guys cast spells?”

“…”

“No.”

Then the top of the cake came when she said about a minute later, “Well I think I’m a lesbian now.” Brea followed with her Bi logic, and I’m almost dieing at that point. Then she left and we laughed harder.

So that’s what happened at the bar tonight.

hah that's an awesome story. I have to correct you, though. I just saw a god-awful movie about witches and I'm all heated up. :P

Monotheism is the belief in one god. Mono. Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism (depends on who you ask), are monotheistic religions. Polytheism is the belief in more than one god. Paganism is a general term used for it. From what it sounds like, you're Wiccan (primarily nature oriented and Goddess focused).

I don't mean to sound haughty and patronizing, but I just get upset/annoyed when people say they're one thing and don't really know about it.

JW lesbians, though. ohgod. That's amazing.

LMAO! THAT TOTALLY MADE MY MORNING!

I was raised by a baptist preacher but I've since become very interested in different forms of paganism. I don't talk about it around th ehouse though, cuz everyone looks at me like I'm nuts >.>

Brea asked me to comment, but for the love of all things holy and some not my humor is failing me. The story just speaks for itself!

OH!! So THIS is the girl that you guys were talking about!!LOL!!!!

HEHE!!!!

I knew a Jehovah's Witness back in elementary school. She was a good friend of mine, but it was funny because in first grade, her mom came into our class and explained it to us.lol.

She left the room during holidays, the frickin Pledge of Allegiance, lol.

wow.lol.

One day, I was on the 6th Street bridge, and I happened to look behind me. Two men were in dressed up attire which was marked by a dress shirt and pants.

I thought to myself, "Oh shit! The Witnesses!" and ran.

hehe. What a night, I bet!lol
